Chinese O ring chain was created by SWest
Here's a heads up. I bought a 630 O ring "high quality" chain on eBay 6 months ago. Gold, looked good, just like the DID chain I took off. I first noticed the links looked like they were starting to kink. That's when I started to check the feed back for this seller. Most were good but some were complaining about links coming apart and some just breaking for no reason.
I looked up BK and found it was made in China. The more I read, the madder I got. Then I noticed the sprockets were wearing. Damn, I need a new chain but no money for it right now. Then while riding through the Mojave on my way to the Fresno area it felt like something was wrong with the chain. I stopped and found the master link was coming apart. I always buy a extra master link and had one for the DID in my box. I'll add pic's later. The chain seemed to be holding up so I kept it lubed and planned to buy a standard chain being my sprockets were damaged and spend the $300/400 later. Wrong. Today as I was leaving for that trek again, THERE IT IS, this time a link was coming apart. Lucky I was at my daughter's half way point to Fresno. Borrowed the car I bought for her a year ago, went to Chaparral, Bought a DID standard chain on sale for $74 with TAX and had it on in 15 minutes. That's it, I'm going home in the morning and chill. I'll put up some pic's then. Though I've been riding and wrenching for over 40 years, I fell for this one. I could have been life threatening. PM me if you'd like to know the seller. I'll go to the discussion board on eBay and tell my story there. Chinese sellers on board. Beware!

You definitely should never buy a chain off ebay. It may look good but you don't know..... and it could have been sitting on the shelf for years. Could also be imitation junk that should never be used.

That's what I bought. Too cheap. Watch that chain closely. The master link came apart after 1000 miles, the chain looked good but started coming apart around 400 more.

The links that came apart were dry inside and rusty.

The first set of chain and sprockets I bought for my 82 750csr were off ebay, it was a regular "heavy duty" chain and after a couple of hundred miles it needed adjustment, then it needed it again and again and then the chain stopped moving and turns out the inner sleeves in the chain were broken and binding. horrible horrible. I have new sprockets and an o-ring chain from ebay now and everything is holding up well. I keep an eye on it though.

I was about to make that ride across the Mojave to the Fresno area when I noticed one link was coming apart. I borrowed my daughters car, went to Chaparral and bought a standard chain. The sprockets were wearing so I'm getting as much out of them as I can. I'll buy a new outfit later. $400 or so. eBay won't even let me e-mail them. DON'T BUY.
