Trying this through tap talk.cant post photos through regular site with phone. Just in case the other one did not go through on the 7th I was in a nasty accident and spent 29 days in the hospital these are the best photos I can get since I am in a wheelchair. There are some things are salvageable I'm more concerned about the frame[IMG][/img]

I'll bet your frame is fine...I t-boned a Ford Ranchero with my first GPz1100 goin' about 70 mph and the frame survived. :)

I agree the frame is probably okay, the frogs look like they took the majority of the force. Pretty hard to tell without stripping it to the frame and checking for squareness. I did a number on my 77 KZ 1000 and it turned out fine.

Check out that triangular flat plate gusset right under the steering neck. Under hard impact that gusset will show bends in it. 1973 to 1980 KZ900/1000 frames bend very easily in that area. If that gusset has bends or cracks in it, there is a real good chance it has a bent frame.

Going by the amount of damage you have to that bike, your insurance company will total it. Unless you had it insured as a collector bike. If not they go off of a Blue Book for its value, which is not much. Don't be surprised if your insurance company offers you like 500 dollars to 750 dollars for the bike. Insurance companies are all whores in my book.

Good luck fighting with your insurance company. I hope it ain't Allstate!!!

My frame was bent in the area Dr. Gamma described. I only realized this after i had done a bunch of work to the frame so i had it straightened. Good luck with your insurance company.
