So the Front and Rear brake pads are the same part # ? The stock rear pads are "rectangular" not like the front "round" ones?

Don't know if applicable to the situation at hand, but some KZ models had the pad design shape changed during production run.

Should hopefully be able to look at a picture of the sought-after item before ordering.

Good Fortune! :)

There were 2 different style calipers on the 77 1000.One was the front caliper they threw on the back like the 76 900ltd,The other had the removable top where you just removed the clips and pins to remove install pads from top of caliper.
The caliper with removable top took the square pads. :)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Plummen, I definitely have the rectangular brake pads in the rear. Went to Ferodo's website but their rear pads FDB 181 showed that they were round. So, I don't know what part # is the correct one for my application? Sent them an email. Maybe should go with EBC "Organic" Pads?

Are these pads Plummen "organic"? Didn't want something that is going to wear down the rotors but something that provides a better grip than stock.

Sorry about that, I missed the "rear" part of your second question. It doesn't look like Ferrodo offers pads for your rear brake they only offer it for the LTD model which, as mentioned above, has different pads.

(Edit) Those EBC pads #FA36 are organic. the sintered ones part number is FA36V. They are more than adequate. The rear brake on these bikes it almost a little too much IMO, its not hard to lock up the rear wheel if you're braking hard.

DoctoRot, FA36 is the # for the Rear. Do you know the part # to the Front?

Received an email from Ferodo USA Tech. Dept. Part#'s for the Front Brake Pads is FDB132P and for the Rear is FDB151P. Seems as they hard to come by and whether they are any better than the rest, I'm leaning towards EBC Organic Pads.
