1982 kz1000p fork brace options was created by blakeem
I'd like to remove the front fender on my 1982 kz1000p however it looks like it would loose a bit of bracing when I remove the metal bits and the last thing I want is less stability. I've read that the forks are spaced wider apart than the kz1000 so I assume those fork braces won't fit. Are there any off the shelf braces that would fit or would I need something custom made?

I got one from Fast From The Past. While they didn't list my bike model, they have the dimensions. So you can find a fit easy enough. Go to their web site. Also you can search my user name and Fork brace, you'll find the info and a chart with the sizes.

That site did come up in my searches except this time I found the chart. I'll get some exact measurements and hope I can find one listed that will fit.

I'm guessing the fork tubes and wheel are the same as the LTD with just a wider center distance but I shall see.
