Thanks for the heads up. I was told my bike wouldn't like 11.5" rear aftermarket shocks from a HD Sportster, and its never rode better! Now it's time for the front. I was thinking about getting, 10.5", or even 10" rear, aftermarket shocks after I lower the front 3". If it doesn't work out, then I'll send the forks off to a machine shop. Its going to be 3" lower in the front, regardless. I think you guys will like my finished project!

So, can you post pics of the Rear shocks you used? Is the rear rim/ tire stock? or......... did you use a 16" rear rime / tire?

I wouldn't cut any springs.
You want them stiffer when you lower.
Preload is what stiffens them. More preload = stiffer.
Object, get the preload you want at the ride height you want.
Understand they are different.
If you cut the springs they will be soft and bottom out (fender).
If your gonna ride on the street just put in the 2" spacers.
If you want the bike lower you can raise the forks in the tree 1"

Parts bike has 2" spacers. Lower and "Firmer" all the way around. (18" front wheel)
I also did this on a stockish KZ650 and drug the footpegs off everywhere I went.
I had cops say I was leaning the bike over too far!
Shaft has 6" srings only on the bottom, no spacers.
It dropped about 2.5" to 3" but was very soft for about an inch of travel then got real hard.
