KZ 750 LTD Center Stand
25 Feb 2014 08:16
Hey folks,
I've gotten my bike back together after an extensive rebuild and took it out for a shakedown run over the weekend. Went OK, but I was bothered the whole time by the sound of my chain cutting through the foot on the center stand! I don't recall taking off a stop or bumper for it, but there must have been one. Anyone got a pic or good description of what should be there? Any help appreciated.

Is the bike a 750-Twin or 750-4?
On the 750-4 the left side muffler bracket has a center stand stop w damper.

I believe there should be a rubber damper on the tang of the center stand, and it looks like that might rest against the bottom of the muffler. Did you remove the stock exhaust or that damper? Ed

The 750-4 has that rubber protector on the center stand, but the muffler bracket damper is the actual stop.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! I remembered as soon as I saw your posts. Then I figured out why I was missing that. I've got a potential buyer for this thing that insisted he wanted the 4 into 1 pipe instead of the 2 stock mufflers. So there is no left exhaust to stop it. Didn't help that the rubber stopper broke off/got lost during powder coating, which would have given me a clue.
Time for a little fabrication! I've seen where some people have bolted some type of cradle from the passenger foot peg. I'll see what I can come up with.
Thanks again!

Just an fyi... Z1Enterprises.com sells the main stand damper - it fits into a 15mm hole.
