Picture of seat prop anybody?

Looking to see where my seat prop rod goes on my 80 KZ1000 LTD. I put a 76ish KZ900 seat on it and it fits perfectly. I bought the prop rod, but can't see how it mounts. I think I know where it mounts, but I am probably missing a part there. Also missing the tool holder box so if anybody can show me a picture or breakdown of the under seat area I would appreciate it.

If nobody has a pic, you could try the diagrams at Kawasaki.com or Partzilla and ebbaayy photos.

Kawasaki wasn't any help at all and Partzilla wasn't much either. I doubt if the missing part is repro'd. My best bet is for a picture and I have a CD with technical drawings and it doesn't show it either.

I think the rod goes on a welded on bracket and is bolted to that bracket. Got to be out there somewhere.

Thanks though.

It should be the same as the KZ900 also

If I remember, I'll try to take a pic of my '78 1000A when I get home. I know it still had the prop rod at one time.

Thanks and what bike is that?

Mine doesn't have that bracket welded on and I was thinking it was attached somewhere in the middle and the seat has a place in the middle where it looks like it hooks on there maybe.

Anyways I guess I need to see how the KZ900 seat prop rod attaches as I was thinking mine would be like it and I do have the 900 seat now.

Anybody have a KZ900 prop rod attachment photo or do they even have one?
I have owned two KZ900s but can't remember what they had.

For comparison, here's a 1981 KZ1000 LTD, since you said yours didn't look quite like the previous pictures...

If you need more detail, the full size picture of the image below can be seen here .

Thanks guys, mine being an 80 doesn't look like it ever had a bracket like the one's shown. I am assuming mine would be more like the 76 KZ900. The seat does have a hook that looks like it might be where the rod goes to prop the seat up. Not going to worry about it though. My prop rod that I bought is like the one in the pictures, but it came off of Ebay.
