GSX-R rearset brackets on a KZ1000

Hey guys. I've been looking around the forum to find what some of you have done for rearset brackets, and I've noticed some discussion and pictures of guys who have used some from GSX-R's.

I have steel brackets that I cut and fastened some Dime City Cycle rearsets to them. The thing is, I don't really like the steel brackets as much as I would like some aluminum brackets for my rearsets. The ones I have are bulky, boxy, and weaker than the aluminum ones would be.

The problem is, any time I've tried contacting sellers of these types of GSX-R brackets on Ebay to ask about dimensions, they never give me an answer.

So I was wondering for anybody out there who has used the aluminum rearset brackets from a Gixxer, what year and size Gixxer were they from, and do you think that they will fit my KZ1000 (CSR)?

you are going to have to use custom made adapter plates or weld some mounts on your bike for whatever sportbike rear sets you use.

The only bolt on rear sets I know of for your bike would be the Tarrozi one's from places like this:

Agreed with Leon- I'm running 1999 Kawasaki zx-750 rearsets/pegs on my 650, and I'll have to weld up mounting tabs to get them to work properly. Just get creative, you can make anything work with the right idea and the right tools.

I have adapter plates plus a custom shifter linkage. I have 06-07 ZX-10r rearsets on my KZ1000.

Adaptor plate.

Thanks guys. I think I will just make some new adapter plates to get rid of the big, boxy ones I have now.

I will post some pics when I finish with the new plates for the rearsets.

I used 2004 GSXR600 rearsets.
No bracket to weld on, I drilled two holes into each side of the frame and bolted each side on.
Don't know if your frame is similar.
