I seem to remember cutting mine off with a Dremel type tool and a cut off wheel,
but that was about thirty years ago

maybe that lower bearing holder will pop up with a screwdriver and who knows it may be threaded in there. is there a way to use a press?

When I did mine I stuck the stem in a vise and (carefully) worked around the race with a chisel - if I remember correctly the stem is slightly fatter at the bottom where the race sits, once the race is free of that part it should come right off.

+1 on this technique. Works fine for every one I have done.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationBest way? Probably using the tool in the 1st pic below; I'm sure that's what Bill Gates or Warren Buffet would use.

When I did mine I carefully cut part way through mine using a Dremel cut-off wheel then snapped it off the rest of the way with a chisel. Looking at the official tool makes me think a person could make one similar to it using a couple pieces form car muffler clamps and 2 bolts (see second pic). You might try that to see if it has potential if you have a couple old muffler clamps handy. Ed

Actually...I just purchased the correct tool for this job (57001-135) as it is still available from Kawasaki...pricey, but I am a firm believer in the correct tool.

Just out of curiosity, does it look similar to the Kawasaki Part #57001-1675 in the first picture? Thanks, Ed

Yes...sort of...at least the bottom part of the tool I purchased resembles '1675'
