Late question, kzz1king, but how did you mount the pivot for your shifter? In the pics, it looks like you cut off the threaded portion of the pivot from the Concours, but how did you mount it to the footpeg mount on the KZ? Maybe drilling into it and threading the inside to screw it on? I'm looking at eBaying myself something of the sort and want to make sure I get all the bits I need. Thanks!

I cut off the post like you mentioned and I drilled and tapped it to bolt onto the lower foot peg mounting bolt (think it was lower) Bike is stripped down now or I would post more pics. Don't spend much for the parts as there are alot of connies being parted out.

Sorry, it is the top peg mount I screwed it onto.

Hmmmmm...definitely going to try this...I like the 454 LTD brake pedal idea...not so keen on the reverse shifting though....I'm so used to one down, 4-5 up I'm sure I'd have a brainfart or have to do a panic stop and shift wrong...
The first kz1000 I fell in love with was Toecutter's bike in Mad Max...It's been a passion of mine ever since...

Decided to go with the Concours shifter - the longer arm makes it much easier to shift than the backwards lever. I don't have a tap & die set but I do have a Dremel, so I got a coupling nut and ground all but one end round so it fit through the shifter arm pivot. I used a wrench on the end with the sides remaining to screw it on the mounting bolt in place of the cap nut, slid the shifter on, and put a bolt on the end to hold it. Might be similar to what guitargeek did, I can't tell from the pictures. If anybody's interested and wants a visual, let me know and I'll take a pic. Just being lazy right now.
