Yip....i've done a search.......

Anyway, just wondered if anyone had done anything like this.

I have 17" ZR750 wire wheels & im using 650ninja RWU forks (41mm & i think 204mm spacing). I want to fit bandit 1200 clocks but cant use the bandit 1200 yokes (triples) cos they take 43mm forks so it looks like i'll be using bandit 6 mk2 yokes & adapt them to take the clocks. The mk1 bandit 6's yokes fork spacing is 190mm compared to the mk2's 204mm.........so the mk1 is out.

So has anyone done a bandit 600 triples conversion or are there any others i should consider?
1/ Needs to take 41mm forks
2/ ignition barren must be in the centre of the top triple
3/ Preferably a stem of 30mm diameter (bandits are 30mm)

Ideas very much appreciated!

sounds like a stem swap might work for you.
i have also machined sleeves for doctorot to fit smaller diameter forks into triples that used larger diameter forks if that could help you.

Leon, thanks for your reply. The 650 ninja's stem is 35mm or thereabouts si yes its too big. The other thing though is its ignition barrel hole is offset so the top triple is no use for fitting the bandit 1200 clocks. I dont know much about sleeving, its an option but i'd rather stay with correct size triples if possible.........that may be my inexperience talking though as they're probably perfectly safe? Did you make them from stainless & just cut a slot in them so they could clamp tight?, i think if i were doing it i'd leave a rim on the top (or maybe bottom) so they couldn't fall out............its an idea i haven't given much thought to.

If i were to use a sleeve i could use bandit 600 lowers & the 1200 top but is a 1mm sleeve possible & safe?

Now you've got me thinking, good man!!

steve,i used aluminum(6061) and cut a slot in them.they could be made from alum or ss,they could have a lip if it helped you to sleep at night   :P .

here is a zx9 that i cut the ignition sw.

loop off from and machined new bungs and welded them on.
