My question is, am I safe running a wheel from a kz440? Should I seriously consider getting the correct rims? I enjoy the style of the wheel, but I am not opposed to the spoked wheels.

The donor bike from which I got the swing arm and rims was a 1979 kz650. Now, if I am reading correctly, the stock rims where 18", correct?

Thanks all!

EDIT: Notice the rear sprocket is only four bolt, instead of 6...
The 650 Custom had 18" cast alloy wheels, while the 650-SR had 16" - also cast alloy (or "mag"), and both had a Rr disk brake. The 1980 KZ650-E had a 16" mag w drum. I would look into getting the one from the 650E or maybe a KZ550C if you want a 16" or 550A for an 18". The E may be a direct swap. Not sure about the 550s, although they do swap w the 81 650CSR.

The 550C is a direct swap with the drive hub and axle spacers. If your spacers are the same size you would just need a wheel, drive hub, and cushin.
