i made a cafe racer but i really want a bobber. i dont have a welder so does anyone know where i can get a bolt on bobber kit? if not, i was just going to have someone weld tubes from the frame (where it starts to slope) to the swing arm. any ideas?

I can't say I've seen a kit. The easiest method would be to replace your shocks with solid struts (you can make a set with hacksaw and drill) and whack off the frame behind the last crossmember.

Have you replaced the rear brake shoes? How about the front brake? Have you refurbished or serviced that? A bobber is goofy. A Cafe Racer makes more sense.

Opinions dont bother me. i enjoy all the input from you guys. i want to hear everything that you have to say. the good. the bad. it opens my perspective on things. and yes, i do have all the brakes replaced, the carbs are cleaned, choke flaps are filled in, new NGK spark plugs, cables and air filter, just needs a battery and i need to tear into my clutch and it should be alright. i was thinking as well, i could just find a junk KZ and make a bobber project out of that with all the knowledge that i consumed working on this bike. but i still would like to know what bobber options are out there. opinions and constructive criticism is welcome. thanks..... and who knows.... i was thinking about picking up a Kikker 5150 200 just to go to work and cruse around. i figured i can pick one up from Craigslist for around $1200 and 15 years down the road, ill hand it down to my son or daughter as a starter bike.

well here is my bike now. i was bored so i took the struts off and now this is what i want but still no info on extending the swing arm properly. i was thinking about having it stretched 6" in the box area where the swing arm pivots. i figured it would be stronger with it boxed in rather then put plugs in the tubes.

you can use two master links and lengthen your chain.

extending your swingarm by cutting and boxing it in is fine, and prolly easier than extending the tubes.
