Quicky Question About KZ Front Sprokets was created by NakedFun
I did my search, so please don't flame me..... :woohoo:

Do all KZ900/1000/1100 with chain drive from 73-82 use the same front sprocket splines/diameters? I know the later 81+ use a large bolt and washer instead of a nut like the earlier bikes. Trying to order an offset 530 sprocket for my project, but they don't list it for the KZ900, but do for the KZ1000/1100. Any help here with confirmation would be appreciated!

Alright, I give it a shot and see. I have to order one for my brother's '81 CSR as well and was trying to make sure. Thanks again.

I think there might be an issue from what I have been finding. I think the '81 + use a different front sprocket, but can't seem to find out what is different. If I know the splines were the same, I would risk the rest....

Definitly different!

For 73-80 KZ900/1000 use P/N 172-530 Offset Sprocket
For 81-Up KZ1000/1100 use P/N 173-520 Offset Sprocket.

I ordered my 530 conversion back in March from Z1.

Just tell them what you want and they will figure out what you need to order to fit.

Yeah, this is a complete custom job, so I just need a 3/8" offset - 530 and will mill the hub about .200" and all should be well. Plan on doing plenty of business with Z1 as the project progresses.
