KZ1000 braided brake lines (front)
17 Oct 2011 06:04 - 17 Oct 2011 06:04
My KZ900 has dual discs and calipers behind the fork. I imagine the fork and brakes came off a KZ1000 or a KZ900 LTD. The rubber brake lines are shot and I'm planning to buy a set of braided lines, probably from Z1 Enterprises.
Just wondering if someone else has done this recently and can provide the part #'s to save me some guess-timation.
The KZ is using the brake splitter on the lower triple clamp and it has superbike bars.
Thanks, Mike

Leon, Z1 is my favorite place to buy parts for the KZ. In the past I have found them extremely helpful.
Lately, it seems like they are being more vague, giving me options rather than saying exactly what to order. I'm guessing that a customer was unhappy with an order and made a big fuss about it.
If anyone has ordered brake lines from Z1 lately and can tell me what part numbers, work, I'll appreciate it.
Thanks, Mike

Call Jim at Redline cycle in skokie, il. there is no guess work with him, the dude knows his shit. He might bust you up a little bit for having the wrong parts on your bike but he'll be able to tell you what you need to make it work.

Use Google, measure them, you will spend hours looking. They are sold by the inch. 18-19-20-21-22
Chrome bango ends screw together. 45-90-180 degree angles. You say you have shorter bars, that throws out stock.
This top line is only 10 inch.
I made these local from "classictube.com"

Just curious, anyone using Russel build them yourself brake lines from Dennis Kirk? Sound like they'd save a bunch of money and in theory be just as good.

Do you know of any source for grey or black braided brake lines, along the lines of the Russel DIY set up if possible?
Thanks,Ken
