$500 to $600 + shipping, for a complete front end seems to be common on ebay.
u will find it cheeper to buy a complete front end in the end. if u start buyiing it peice at a time it will cost more in shipping and frustration.
i have a 96 zx9 front end. they seem to be the longest. if u want radial brakes, and who doesnt . lol .
u need to look at the newer years, like about 06 or so, depending on the make .

sorry julian,
that bike is kzrider member amele's bike.i did the stem swap and machined a bushing for the upper triple to fit the kz stem.
then i machined all of the rear wheel spacers out for him.

to answer your question tho,you do not have to have an extended swingarm.although you do have to have a swingarm that is wider at the back where the axle goes through,and that has enough width to accomodate a wide 180/190 tire.
