Anyone have a definitive answer on this? I want to update my top tree to the newer style from a KZ900 or KZ1000 (I have KZ650 gauges on the Z1 bracket-don't ask  stupid PO- and they fit like crap. I am going to get the correct bracket for the guages, but this requires me to swap my top tree out. What model top triple tree will fit on my stock Z1 forks and steering stem? THANKS!

I just brought home the complete triple tree(upper/lower) and gauges/mount from my 77 KZ1000.

I have the worm gear too, but not the piece it goes into.

I'll check the dimensions for you sometime today, so you can see if the 1000 stuff is different.

Man, sorry about the delay.

The stem hole in my 77 kz1000 upper triple is right around 28mm without the bolt in.

Let me know if you need any other measurements, it's out so I can measure the stem if you need it.

I think they are exactly the same though.

I have the whole gauge cluster with light panel/harness if you are still looking for one.
