Around $1000 or so by the time you're done.

That w/out labor if you're assembling yourself, right? What else are you including in that, Steell? Cam chain, idler components, gaskets, seals/rubber components? Anything else?

$600 for Wiseco 810 kit (cheaper if you shop around)
$200 bore and hone
Few $ for base and valve cover gaskets
Oil and oil filter
Valve job, lap them in if they're good, grind if not.
Maybe a new valve or two, maybe a new valve guide or eight

If you're really lucky you might get buy with a little less than $1000, but if you're like me then better plan on $3000 to $4000 :woohoo:

It's amazing how simple jobs can become so expensive. I bought a bike, parked it in the garage/shop to adjust the valves and give it my new to me bike inspection. Had to buy 9 new shims at $4 ea, but the coil on plug conversion, EFI conversion, new tires, replacement plastic parts, new wheels, new brakes, new paint, and a few small things put me somewhere between $1k and $2k. Just for a simple valve adjustment. I've been wondering if I may need Professional help? Nah, I'd rather spend the money on the bikes B)

X2

get the bike you have running good and maybe look into trying to score some goodies and a good header used...

a well set up 750 is plenty fun...oh and for the 1000 you might spend to bump the motor up...you could just as easy score a deal on a nice 900/1000 full bike running good...with a list of stuff improved already...happens all the time...

get that 750 running good and smile away...
