Not an engineer but was once a student. My adviser once told me that i will never retain all the info learned in class but as long as I know where to find it then Im fine. And I have an engineer friend. But know Im worried about it. I may scratch the plan but still do a 240 spoked rear.

i just figured we copy the hub of the triumph or whatever and then build around that. seems simple

You could try a company called DEMONS from Florida. They have some of the lowest prices for custom stuff. I've bought stuff from them before and I was surprised at the quality (very good) for the $. I'm not sure about the wheels though they look really nice. Demons make mostly custom V-twin stuff but some of it is universal.

This set of wheels is $445.00 US right now (crazy deal IMO)

I am not an expert but it seems to me to go with a tire that wide and still have a good handling bike you would have to build a swing arm that can accept the wheel width and still line up the pivot point of the swing arm and the center line of the wheel. using a production swingarm with a wheel that wide would put the swingarm pivot 4"-5" off center creating all kinds of issues with mounting to the frame. You could probably put it together and have it look "cool", but who wants a bike you can't ride.

well i was not going to use a factory built swingarm. but build on that would fit and be centered. And dont believe the hype about big tires not handling. I have 3 other big tire bikes and I hve proved that they can handle through the mountains around here. you cant AMA track race them but you can ride them hard. My 330 cant handle well mainly because of the tire but my 240 keeps up with anything. And I just like the look. I just cruise.
