Rearsets was created by hocbj23
For a couple of reasons, Ive decided to see if I can change my riding position a bit and be more comfortable on the bike.On the left side,my boot and the stator cover seem to be in each others way, and on the right,my modified brake pedal(Vand H exhaust)and boot are at odds. I thought perhaps rear sets might be an answer.Fast from the Past seem to have a good selection.Anyone using rear sets and if so how do they work for u?Bike is a somewhat modified 82 CSr with a Gs rear swing arm and some other goodies.Im 5-11,180 pounds and a sexy senior citizen so dont need to get myself in a position where physical strength alone will help me. Lol.Thanks for ur input..bj

I set mine back by a few inches on th original mounts. I went with a short brake pedal from a KZ1300 and a shifter lever mounted on the same pivot as the GPz pedal is mounted. Since my bike was built from a 81CSR the mounts are identical to yours. You can see where the pegs were mounted in the front to begin with.

good ideas.Thanks. Dont happen to have an extra 1300 brake pedal do you?I probably could just cut the kz1000 pedal, shorten the shaft and reweld it I guess.Have u thoght about heating the brake pedal shaft and bending it up slightly or does it work ok the way it is?By doing this,do u feel more comfortable on the bike?BJ

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThe answer to all of your questions is Yes. The pedal from the original bike is just WAYYYYYYYYYYY TOOOOOO LOOOOOng. The 1300 pedal is perfect. I do have an extra one. I bought them on eBay and you can find them every so often. If you cut yours and re-weld it that would work but bending would not be enough.
Here is one on eBay right now.

I find this position absolutely perfect. Some of the rearsets are just too far back. This is so you have an ideaa how they place on the bike. They wound up being 5.5" farther back and 1.25" higher. They are actually a tiny bit farther back and a bit higher than the GPz stock mounted ones. You can use a GPz shifter lever and linkage for the right side. I welded mine up from the stock shifter lever.

Try to make sure that you get that pedal. I paid about $35 for mine when I bid on them.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI can pull one of my peg mounts off and give you the precise positions of the new holes for the pegs. I also epoxied some aluminum reinforcements in the back to help hold the pegs more solidly. I will post some pictures for you. You will also require one of these for the other side.
