i don't know i just usally bake cookies, not bearing material i think they are a lead babbit material and it doesn't take much heat to melt lead i'd be nervous myself why don't you just paint them instead. i know if you leave steering head bearings in a frame that is being powdercoated it will kill them. so i wouldn't imagine these would hold up any better. 450 is a lot of heat that is for sure. and that kind of heat will do wierd things to metal

If in doubt take it out. I have to agree with timebomb, If the material is questionable, than paint the legs if you can't remove or replace the component. Granted p-coat is more durable, however durability means nothing if the leg or component is ruined in the baking process. Have you looked into Dupont Imron paint. I used a lot of this when painting industrial and heavy equipment. It is Mil-spec'd and damn near as durable as long as you put several coats on.

Good call on the Imron. I forgot about that stuff. Works pretty good on the bottom of speedboats and airplanes. Ought to hold up on fork legs.

Absolutely! Great stuff to use when durability is a factor if p-coat isn't an option.

Use a different powder coat (er). The power used on my frame cures at 375 for 20 min. Works fine and is that much farther from the limit of 500.

He coated his from his SR and said they look fine, I'm gonna tell him to go ahead, I was already thinking about getting B1 forks anyways, if he ruins them then I will.
