I felt good enough to go to the shop and start the teardown of the bike so i can paint the frame.

It took a while but it is going to be a pain to clean and polish the parts that go back on. Roy

"Isn't polishing just a blast. "...

Since we (I) busted Keith's balls on NOT polishing, he's been a busy little beaver polishing... I've been getting PM's from cursing at me...

Same time, he's digging how they are coming out...B)

I have got a lot of hours cleaning the engine that was on the bike.

The 1075 engine needs extensive cleaning and i just can't make up my mind of which engine to use.

I'll get the frame cleaned and painted today and think some more on it. Roy

The bike looks great. The paint came out nicely.

A quick question about polishing.........

I have polished my side covers with rouge and then white polishing compounds, but I still think that they can come up some more.....

Anyone know what the next polishing step after the white would be? I just cleaned mine with windex to remove residual residue...but I am sure that there must be a couple of extra steps to make the peices "show" ready.

I want to turn a couple of more heads at bike night.

I have always used "3M perfect it 2" rubbing compound and "3M finesse it" polishing compound as final finishing. I have always done it by hand, but I am sure using a buffer would come out even better.

The paint job in the previous picture is the old paint job.

Maybe by next week i will have this together and will post some pictures then.

I hope the frame is finished. I'll check it out again and then decide which engine to use.

My motor on my polisher burned up so i will have to hunt up another one. Roy
