I've been thinking about doing this all winter, but I wasn't sure what size tube I would need for the slug, and I haven't felt like picking up another stock kz1000 arm yet.
I only want to go about 2" over, I can keep the stock axle with that then?

Looks good man, this might be just the inspiration I need.

I have so many projects for this bike in my head, my wife doesn't understand why I want to change a bike that everything already works on. :(

Whose got a spare stock arm that they are tired of tripping over?

TachrevAfter you cut your stock arm, just make sure to measure the inside diameter before you buy your steel tube. I'm sure that different years, models, etc have slightly different ID's. as far as the axle, just measure to make sure. You might need to pick up a slightly longer one, a gs1100 axle should work, they are a little longer and cheap on ebay. Well, gotta go for now, off to the torture chamber (doctors office) to get a nerve block in my back.

with the way it is extended would a large tire such as a 180 rub up in front since it angles in? A buddy of mine extended the stock arm and it looked like my gsxr rim w/190 tire wasn't going to fit. Although i dont think it was extended as long as yours is.

I'm not sure yet what size tire I can run, I have to measure it after I get it all mocked up with the shock mounts, axle, etc. Didn't get much done today, I had to get 4 nerve blocks in my back....not fun. Hopefully I won't be to sore tomorrow to finish it up.
