Not sure yet, the new arm at the axle blocks is 1 1/4" wider. I'm thinking probably a 160-180 if I want to get into offset sprockets. I might just put a 140 on there for now, I've been out of work at my reg. job for 3 months due to a back injury, so I'm low on $$$$

well its a little late now but id suggest cutting the kz1000 arm just in front of where the front mount is for brake caliper stay arm and grafted it all on from there back then your disk brake would be a real simple install with basically stock parts.i also limited mine to around 2" over on the stock so i would only need to slug about 2 1/2"-3" into each end, also saved me from having to make custom axle.should be plenty stout though!what kind of motor are you planning that you wanted to add that much wheelbase?B)

I'm staying with the 550 motor with some minor head porting, pods, and better exhaust. I just wanted to experiment, and I like the look of a stretched out bike. I'm probably going to make a caliper mount that mounts solid to the swingarm so I can eliminate the linkage all together. Bad stuff happens when I get bored...lol

True that. I'm really going to be in trouble soon, I'm getting 2 more parts bikes in exchange for some carb work on a guys bike. My wife gets mad sometimes "you need to start charging these people for your work, all you ever do is trade!", but she quits nagging when I luck out like I did recently. A dude brought me a 78 Z1r with the carbs apart in boxes. They were missing some parts (nothing major, screws, gaskets, orings, and 1 jet). He said he really needed to get his bike running quick, but was low on cash. I just happened to have a set of BS34's off of my j model that I recently rebuilt. He traded me his carbs and a few other parts for the 34's. I put them on, got his bike going, and off he went. I got to looking at the carbs in the box...they are a set of 29mm smoothbores. My wife nearly fell out when I showed her how much they are going for on ebay......

Needless to say, she doesn't usually whine about me trading anymore.....lol
