swapping front and rear suspension?

I have a 77 kz650. Here are the things I would like to upgrade (keep in mind I have two of these bikes so time is not an issue): forks, triple, bars, guages, controls, brakes, swingarm, rims, tires, mono shock. I would like to use as new of parts as possible. Thinking maybe 05-06 zx636. If anyone has all ready done these mods please let me know. I am mainly looking for what parts to buy as well as what year for a project bike. Thanks

Well I did it on my 650 but not that new of parts. I used a 92 ZX7 front and an 84 GPZ mono rear.

The "Search Forum" function will turn up a lot of good info. Type in either "fork swap" or "swingarm swap" and start browsing. OMR has used some 636 stuff, I believe, as well as Plummen.

Lotsa guys "been there / done that" around here. Check in the "Projects" forum. Solumnrus has installed 636 stuff with great success.

it has a 1994 ZX9R front end with a '03 636 swingarm/brakes/shock setup with '97 ZX7R wheels. If you are interested, I have a extra '03-05 636 swingarm/shock/dogbones setup for sale. I'll let you have it for all for $85+shipping...

Very nice, Schmol. I really like that rear end setup. It seems a little high. Will that affect the gas level in the carbs? Will the bike level out when you sit on it?
