Re: Tube type tires?

I doubt tube type is still available. From what I've gathered, generally the cheaper the tire, the more flexible it is making for easier mounting. Dunlop D404 is near bicycle tire because it's a real winner of a tire
GT501 is just a "LITTLE" better so it's a "LITTLE" harder to mount. Being sarcastic as usual, GT501 is a "LOT" better tire. Cheng Shins, IRC, Durabrand?? ect, ect are all lower line tires that would be easier mounting. The sidewall plys can vary, so less sidewall plys would be more flexible. The D404 is like a 1 ply tire so nearly no resistance encountered in mounting where a GT501 may be a 4 ply. I'm too lazy to run out and check, but I did see the 404 had less plys than any other tire I've ever owned and it showed in mounting ease. That being said, not worth it, get better tire, better tire irons ect and use the better tubeless tires by my advice.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

the new tire might also be stiffer just because its new. who knows.
takes a gallon to get there? wow. i see your point i guess. my place is 5mins away.
try lettin the tire sit out in the sun, mite make the rubber alil more pliable. dont forget to balance it

I had the GT501 installed at CycleGear today. 15 bucks - that's cool. They were quite pleased that the rim was in good shape & that I cleaned it up real good (& the tire was half installed when I took it there). They might have charged as much as $35+ otherwise.

Those are about the rates I found when inquiring on mounting and balancing. First place wanted $75 for the pair if the wheels were off. Second place wanted $29 a wheel off and $58 a wheel if I just brought the bike in. Ended up listening to steell and doing it myself with the help of my father.
Thanks again Steell
