Hey guys,
First off, I totally understand that this mod is outside the scope of restoration. To the purists, I am sorry. 

When I received this bike last summer, there were no original taillights. So in my endeavor to turn this bike into a cafe/brat style, I purchased an LED strip for my running, brake, and turn lights. However this strip has a shared turn/brake wire. 
Does anyone know how I could modify the wiring to make this work? I have reached out to the company (Mictuning) but have not heard back yet.

Need to see the rest of the schematic. So far I have

strip Black to bike black/yellow
Strip green to bike gray
strip yellow to bike green

The bike schematic? It's from the KZ650-H1 Wiring Diagram:
Grey - right signal
Blue - brake
Red - running light
Black/Yellow - negative
Green - left signal

Currently, I wired the blue wire (brake) from the bike to the left signal/brake wire on the LED strip. When the brake is not applied, the left blinker works. When I apply the brake, the left blinker stops. On the right side, with the right signal engaged, the blinker continues with or without the brake applied. 

I'm not sure if there is something I can rewire before the rear light to make it or, or if I have to take the light apart and see if I can do some rewiring in there.

To work properly, you will want to use an integrator.  They make them for trailers.

You could also just use a few high power diodes to block the brake light from turning the other turn signals on and crosstalk between signals.   

If you don't have front signals, and only the ones on the strip, you would only need 2 diodes.

Can you describe the colors of the light strip?  Are the signals amber?  The brake light should be red, which would mean the signals should be red, but the descriptions seems to indicate white and amber?  I don't think it's legal in the U.S. to have a rear pointing white light.

I bought the strip off of Amazon but it came from this company:

There are three colours/rows on the LED strip: red, white, and amber. The running light is red and the brake light makes it more red! The signal lights are sequential using the amber strip of LEDs. The white is not connected as this bike obviously does not have reverse and I have no intention of using it. (I think this company specializes in making light strips for the back of trucks that connect to the 4-way trailer connector.)

I'm comfortable with electrical work but just stumped on this one. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so yes, to get it to work properly, you will need a universal trailer brake/tail integrator.

Or you can use a few or couple diodes, but then the turn signals will not show up when the brakes are applied.  I recommend the integrator.

That one looks like it would work too, but it also includes wiring for the tail light and grounds.

One note: those blue plastic wire splicers are notoriously flakey.  We avoid them as much as possible.

Ooooooooh. If I understand you, I do not need all the wires to go through the converter, just the signal and brake wires? The negative and taillight can be wired separately?

And yes, I know those blue splicers are not great. That's why I have my soldering iron set-up on my workbench!

It may depend on the unit itself.  Some may require that ground wire be grounded in order to work.  

The one I linked to doesn't seem to need a ground wire.  

The running light probably doesn't need to go through the converter since cars aren't required to have running lights on all the time like bikes do.

This one on Amazon has a good rating.  At least on Amazon you can return it easily.  It also has a ground and running circuit which may or may not be required to be hooked up.
