Check which Dyna rotor you have as the wrong one causes this issue.
One stamped 3 is for the later 900 and 1000 with the 005 advancer and one stamped 3A is for the early Z1 advancer.
Flipping the backplate can usually get you more adjustment.

Mine has a 3 stamped on it. Flipped the plate, still not right. What is the distance from "T" to scribe "adv" mark for 2/3? Thanks for your help!

What number is on the advancer - 005 or non at all.

It say "Tek 1020". Is there some recommended method of measuring and scribing the 2/3 adv marks ? Also, so am I supposed to use the right line "II" mark. for static timing the 1/4 adv. ?? Thanks in adv. Gary

My only question left: What's the deal with the two "II" marks, I know it indicates total advance BUT why two lines? Which line do I time it to then?

Does your advancer look like this with the II marks between 1-4 and 2-3 .
If it does the one to the left is TDC and the one to the right is the static timing mark.
Full advance is further to the right next to the pivot pin of the advancer weight.

Use either advanced mark. It’s just to get close enough to start the bike. Then dynamic time with a light.
