I am trying to figure out where this plugs in at. If i am following this wire diagram right it says it is for a break light failure indicator. It is black/yellow, green/white and blue wires.
I dont see anywhere it would plug in at.

Does anyone know if the 77 kz650c has the clutch lever switch. I see the spot on the clutch porch for it but there is not one there.
Something is weird. I turn my engine stop switch to the off position and all my turn signals and lights work i turn it to on and my lights go off.
When i hit the start button nothing is happening.

Yes. The stock 1977 KZ650-C1 has a clutch lever switch that is depressed by the clutch lever when using the electric starter. The clutch lever must be depressed when using the electric starter and must not be depressed when using the kick starter. The switch (shown below) has 2 little ears, one of which must be depressed to remove it. There is a hole in the mount through which one depresses the little ear. Ed

Mine does not have it at all. And i dont know what wires would go to it, to maybe bypass it.
I dont see any wired that are not hooked up.

There is probably something wired wrong if the kill switch is controlling the lights. Another possibility is that the ignition is drawing a lot of power, for some reason, and when you turn it on it kills the battery power so the lights go off.

If you want to bypass the clutch lever switch, it can be done in many places. The clutch lever switch is in line between the start button and the start solenoid. So someone may have just wired the start button directly to the start solenoid.

So i found a few bare wires coming out of the left hand control that was causing some problems. Got that fixed.
I have the starter button working now.
But i am not getting any spark from the plugs.
Need to figure that out now.

Do you still have the problem of the lights going out when you turn the kill switch to "on"?
