Steve you should be a (the) spokesperson for JB Weld, ha ha. Actually I use to seal up the hole, after I refill them, in damper cups of gauges

Hard rock, do them yourself. I did mine the same as asphalt900, I used VHT chassis rattle can. I guess wrong per asphalt900. Have to do another set for my 900A4 with a different sheen. The picture of the art paint (shared from another post) is what I used to infill the letters, dab in and gently wipe off easypeasy. The other photos are my set I did.

I said it before and i'll say it again. You did a Fantastic job on those Mikaw. Actually those are harder to do than the early ones. The cavities for all yellow labeling is not as deep and you have to use light pressure when you wipe or you wick-up all the yellow paint.

That's my plan...to do them myself. I did one a couple of years ago, using paint sticks for the lettering. It worked OK. I also use vintage connections for connectors. I sometimes see starter buttons and spring on ebay but not the tops.
OK...so no laquer...
Vapour blast them to clean them up...use a primer and then a semi gloss black. Asphalt, are you using a sprayer or a brush? For the lettering it looks like artists paint and lightly wipe.

9-er, Sorry I have never found a replacement for the 77-up on/off/on switch. I know they are plagued with more issues than the previous ones. I can paint the red arrow on top and a light hit with a fast moving steel brush kinda brings back the "black shiny" color. You can replace the single ball bearing and clean the contacts but if the lower plate's 3 lands where the bearing travels is trashed it's a moot point. Hardrock, Some photos +. I'm NO painter but what I do seems to hold up for some time. I don't clear them because I want to maintain the original matte OEM finish. You can of course do whatever you like looking at? I just #8 bead blast, prime, paint and detail. I use Testors enamel White, Red and Yellow.

Some more info if it help, many of you will already know this. I have been using the connectors/spades/sheathing from Vintage Connections for years. Just a really nice addition for doing the switches. May not be practical if you are doing just a couple switches but you still have a whole wiring harness don't you? Makes for Nice original style secure connectors. Mikaw if you see this, another unique use of a tool, or is it a tool? My wife's wire support out of her bra, big melons have advantages, modified at the end of course for fitment. Oh yeah beat that gem for homemade!

Asphalt900 got the terminals covered I need a better crimping tool. The one I have is very finicky and I’ve ruined a few terminals

Asphalt, thanks again for the potos. Quite helpful to see the paint you are using. I have the same Vintage connections kit for other purposes and the crimping tool. I also have the release tools they sell for disconnecting wires from the plugs.
I think I'm ready to try again.
