Ignition switch question was created by Dormis
Thinking about changing the ignition switch on my kz 650 sr 1980. My current switch works just fine, but it is beat to the point where you can start the bike with a screwdriver. Question is: My switch has six pins + what I assume to be a ground wire (picture: Switch 1). The one that i bought has just the six pins (picture: Switch 2). Am I going to get ignition without the brown ground wire? Is there an option to just soldier a ground wire to one of the points of the back of the switch itself? Or do I need to buy a switch that has the ground wire? Havent really seen any aftermarket switches for sale that has this ground wire, so I hope I can get away with it.
Note: I Realise that I have put this in the wrong category, but I don't know how to change it

There isn't a ground wire on the switch. Pic of yours? You may have to move the pins to match.

So you can get one with the brown wire? That wire is hot when the switch is on.
