81 Spectre 750 coil replacements

Wondering what coils, wire, and cap set to get new for my 82 Spectre 750. OEM part numbers for just the coils are 21121-1027 and 21121-1028. Thinking they are 2 ohm coils. EBay sells 4 ohm set of Emgos but think they don't work because of ohm differences.

You could also use either the grey Dyna 2.2 ohm coils or the green 3.0 ohm.
Most guys probably get the green ones. I did for just in case I needed to switch to the Dyna S ignition.

For the spark plug wires you'd probably want to get 7mm solid copper core. For stock type coils, if need be for a tighter fit at the coil towers & spark plug caps, you might be able to reuse the outer sheathing from the stock spark plug wires (credit to Nessism). I would use Liquid Wrench silicone spray to make removal easier.

Thanks and was thinking about Dynas. But just want sort of a stock performance replacement, with wires, and caps, all in one for around ahundo or less. Theres emgo with ngk caps, but 4 ohm, need to look for the 2 ohm.

How do you hook up stock coil wires to the dyna coils?

The eb coils in that topic have a 2.4 ohm primary resistance & should be for electronic ignition.
If you get new spark plug wires & plug caps, you may have to use the stock outer sheathing from the old spark plug wires for a watertight fit. maybe. maybe not.

I installed the Dyna spark plug wire set along with the green coils. I don't think the stock plug wires will work with the Dynas.
Also, with the Dynas you'll probably have to fab extra mounting brackets. some guys just use L-brackets from the hardware store, I made a pair from 1-1/2 angled aluminum from the home depot.

I thought the stock 750 coils were 2.4 ohms and they definitely have points ignition. Or are they 4 ohm? Anyone know the specs on stock coils? And Id get Dynas, but alot of messing around that I'm already sick of right now. There's alot of quality stock type replacements in which I think I may do for this bike. Just need to know exactly the ohm resistances that will without a doubt work. When I find the kz1000 I'm looking for, definitely go all out on that though.

The 3 ohm coils is in case you have to go with a Dyna S and not have to buy new coils too.

Awesome. Ill just use the Dyna 3 ohm, they come with new wires for $125 anyways. Thanks guys.

It must be the DS2-2 S ignition. May just install that too. But in the Dyna coils, how does one connect the factory bike coil terminals to them? I can figure out how to mount them, just need to know the best way to connect terminals.
