Tachometer Fluttering at 55mph

Hello,
I have a 1982 Kawasaki KZ 1000 LTD. I notice a fluttering of the tachometer gauge when I am running at speeds above 45 mph and don't notice this a low speeds. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how to resolve. The engine is running beautifully!

No, It is an analog gauge diaplay. If that is what you are asking.

I had replied suggesting that you lube the tach cable, but then after looking at the parts diagram I saw that the 1982 Kawasaki KZ 1000 LTD didn't come with a tach cable so I erased my reply. Sorry about the confusion. Ed

Well thank you. It never occurred to me that it might not have a cable driving the tach. Another awesome rider asked me that very question and I thought he meant the display gauge itself. I didn't realize his meaning until now.

Yes it apparently is electronic. I had not realized it didn't have a cable until you posted that question back and another user found a diagram. Looks like I may have to live with this issue for now.

The manual has a troubleshooting section & flow charts for the meters.

Okay Thank You. Unfortunately my bike didn't come with either an owner's manual or a service and parts manual. I am looking to acquire both.
