That sucks, one of the few changes they made between the 81/82 and 83 models was the gauges. The 81/82 used 4 separate gauges, the speedometer, gas gauge and tachometer were mounted to a common bracket and the odometer/trip were mounted to a bracket below. In 83 they turned it into all one encased unit with odometer/trip returned to the guts of the Speedo.
