Front Relay???
18 Jun 2016 05:23
So I just bought am 81 kz750. got it home, the thing turned on and tried to start and everything.
Took the gas tank off and clipped the wires on the turn signals, now, nothing happens when I turn the key to the "ON" position.
I changed the front relay, whatever relay that is. It's 4 prong. and it still isn't working.
ANy ideas or suggestions? I hate wiring!!

You need a manual.

Study it slowly and with feeling.

Can you post a picture of this "front relay" you're talking about? It would help in the understanding of what's going on...
I can't seem to find any 4 pronged relay in that wiring diagram?
Also, where did you "clip" the wires for the turn signals; at their stems; inside the headlamp bucket?
It would seem that you've clipped more than just the turn signal wires at first glance without seeing a picture of the situation.
I don't have a 750 myself but the wiring diagram looks nearly exactly the same as my '650's which I just got wired-up last week.

You could reconnect the wires you chopped to see if that is the problem, or if something else is going on, like a dead battery. Please refrain from randomly cutting wires before you fully understand the consequences.
These electrical systems are not very complicated and there are several knowledgeable, helpful members here who can help when you get stumped. A genuine Kawasaki factory service manual will be invaluable in understanding and diagnosing all the bike's systems. They can often be found on eBay and some are available electronically. Be sure to get the manual for your exact year and model.

It just occurred to me - sorry, still on my first coffee; the haze is lifting -
Did you check your fuses? Maybe all that's happened is a fuse blew when you were cutting wires... That's one way to go from - everything works to nothing works in a split second...

It's a basic, 4 pronged universal Relay. It has a hot wire straight from the battery and has ignition wire hooked to it. I know not to cut random, wires!! Haha I don't currently have a photo but could take one later. There is a brown wire, a black and white wire, and the yellow power wire from the battery. I think I am missing a 4th wire?

Is there a fuse inline from the battery?

No there was not. It was a yellow 8g wire from battery wrapped around harness. After getting a better look at it, I'm not sure it is even a stock wire.
