1982 kz750 lights work but won't turn over

So I just replaced the battery on this bike. And now instead of the turn signals blinking now one lights up and I go to turn to start it and nothing. No click no attempt and its readying that my battery is weak and that there is no gas when there is. I'm trying to learn more about bikes so this is a personal project. Will not having the sensor that reads the battery acid level affect it from not starting?. Need help

Could be something as simple as a loose ground cable, or a corroded connection. Check both ends of both cables for clean, tight connections. A genuine factory service manual will be a big help. In the mean time, see if you can find some old posts on this forum by member MFolks. He has posted some pretty good general tutorials for checking electrical systems.

I can tell its a gpz but make and model would make it easier to help . If we knew what bike you had we might know where you can download a manual . Has it ever run or is this a new problem ? Check all the connections first . Then go to the clutch and kickstand switches .
