Bad idea.

If you are desperate for money get a Shindengen R/R from an early 80's Honda. Those units are bulletproof. There was a guy on The GS Resources that used to buy them for cheap off ebay, replace the plugs as needed for quick swapping on Suzuki GS bikes, and test then resell. He recycled several hundred of them and said he never one time came across one that didn't work. That's saying something.

Contact the folks at the link below to see if they have one for your model bike. Their products are VERY reliable! Ed

I used one in a gz250 Suzuki once for my son's first bike, worked fine but we only had the bike for about a year.

Common thought's on the GSR forums is to use a sh-775 series type (polaris) and you'll save yourself a bunch of hassle in the long run and keep your stator safe!

Too many other expensive parts like the stator and battery to risk to go with a no brand $12.99 part from China, IMO.

If the regulator shorts it can overcharge the hell out of the battery...... which could blow up. Battery resides about four inches from rider's testicles......

That's why I wouldn't buy a $12 voltage regulator.
