Hi everyone I am new to this forum and just want to say hi and how informative this forum is thanks.
My question is , I am trying to remove the brake switch for a front drum system to replace it but can't figure out how to remove it! It is from a 1978 Kz400 any help is greatly appreciated thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure, but it may be attached in a similar fashion as the clutch lockout switch on my bike. See if you can find a little hole in the bracket where the switch is. If so, you may need to insert a small pin of some type and push a little tab on the switch. While you have the tab depressed you can pull the switch out of the bracket. The images below show how my clutch lockout switch is set up. Your brake switch may be similar. Ed

The brake switch hole may be rectangular --- just push in on the locking tab & pull out the switch.
In case your parts are in poor condition, the brake light switch & brake lever holder are available new.

PS: it helps to mention exactly what 400 it is. Since it has a Fr drum brake, I guess it's a KZ400-C1. The A & B models have a Fr disk brake.
