I have a 1994 kz1000 police, I have burnt up my 2nd dynatek ds2-1 Ignition I can't find on any web site if it the right one, none of the web sites or dynatek site list a 1994 kz100 police is the ds2-1 the right one to used?

Like missionKZ said call them. have patience it takes about 15 to 20 minutes for them to answer make sure you do the troubleshooting before you call them as they will ask you if you have completed it

The DS2-1 is the right kit. www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?item=DYDS2-1

Did you use the stock coils or the Dyna Green coils? I think the Dyna S likes coils with 3-5 ohms resistance. Some OEM coils are lower than this range though.

Also, are you using a switched power source? If you tap the unit into the battery it will be energized 24/7 which may lead to short life.

I have it switch I had to rewire the whole bike old wires chopped up {[THANK TO C.H.P.] ran hot from batt. to switch then back to a new fuse block so no power to any thing till I turn switch on

How good is your battery ?

The Dyna S does not like low voltage and if you're running the battery down and having to recharge it
a lot that WILL burn up the Dyna S.
A buddy of mine went through three before finally replacing his junk battery and has not had an issue
in over two years.

1980 KZ650 F1
ZX750A1 motor.
Wiseco 810cc kit.
Zukiworks racing ported head.
VM 29 smooth bore's.
Dyna 2000 Ign. w/Dyna mini coil's
APE cylinder stud's and nut's.
APE valve spring's.
APE Track King clutch.
V/H KZ1000 sidewinder.
3.5x18 laced to a KZ1000 disk hub.
150/60/18 Shinko 006 Podium.
63" wheel base.

Low voltage? That doesn't makes sense.
Maybe the bike was WAY overvoltage charging a bad battery?

Batteries like valve adjustments are put off until they can't be ignored.
