i am looking for a new generator/flywheel outer cover for my 1980 kz750 twin. i found one on ebay and t looks the same but is an 82', obviously am having trouble locating one that doesn't cost my first born since i apparently have an odd duck of a bike.

The 82 750-M1 CSR Twin is a chain drive model, so the cover will probably fit. It uses the same gasket.
Any difference is most likely only cosmetic, but I haven't compared them to verify.

Partzilla ->> oem parts -->> Kawasaki -->> motorcycle -->> 1980 -->> KZ750-G1 Ltd-II -->> etc

I'm pretty sure the 750-Twin engine stuff is interchangeable throughout the model range. The belt drive models might vary in regards to the output shaft & stuff related to the mission cover & pulley & that sort of thing.

Look up the gasket part number from a 1980 and then from a 1982. If they are the same part number than you know the covers are most likely going to interchange.

Tell you what, I did it for you and they are in fact the same. I was trying to teach you how to fish instead of giving you a fish.

His bike is a Twin --- the 1980 model is a 750-G1 Ltd II.
The generator cover & gasket are completely different from the 750-4s. :)

Thanks guys, i found the part i needed after looking up a couple of different sites after Nessim said something about OEM sites. Getting that cover off was a real pain. None of the bolts wanted to move at all but we got them all out without stripping any of them. so thank you for all of the help. ;)
