Gauge Glass Swirl Marks was created by The Nomad
I've got some pretty bad swirl marks on the glass of my gauges. Is there any way to remove them with a buffer or something? I'd considered replacing the glass itself, but I don't like the thought of taking the gauge apart to get in there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

is there a reason why you posted the same topic twice? At any rate, the only way to clean that is to take the gauge apart. it's touchy work since it requires uncrimping the bezel and then recrimping to assemble the unit after finished. You can paint the tip of your gauge needle if you get it apart though so good luck.

Yeah, I spazzed out and put it in "Engine" by accident. I sent a message to the moderator to delete it and re-posted it in the right place. Sorry about that.

I do know there was someone out there reconditioning gauges for KZ bikes last year. I sent the guy a note at his site to ask about cost, but never got a response.

Niiiiiiiice! Okie, maybe I can do that. Did you replace the glass? That was what I was thinking of doing. Toss the old ones and get new. Very impressive!

There's just one on the outside. It's not so much the scratch as the swirl marks that are visible. Do you really think Windex will work? I'm thinking it's messed up on account of a harsh cloth or paper towel.

Might have been caused by a rock in whatever was used to clean it. Opening them up is fairly easy, getting to the glass is another matter.
