battery not charging during running of bike?

For some reason..battery checks good..yet after I turn it off..won't start back without a jump

It'll be tomorrow till I can do that.. Out of town right now,and just jumping bike to start it..took battery to auto parts store where I got it..also neutral light has gone out..I'll try this first tomorrow though.

The easiest and first thing to check is battery voltage with bike running. Should be at least 13.8 depending on year of bike.. Newer models usually are closer to that number.. If it's over about 12.5 vdc when running you may have ground issue. If it's closer to 12 likely a stator or regulator issue.
