I mentioned the wattage because some models had a lower watt headlight --- I think yours is 35W. I don't know if a higher wattage headlight would tax the wiring or charging system or what. If the stock sealed beam is 60/55W, then the H4 should work no problem.
My 81 KZ650 came stock w a 60/55W sealed beam & I installed an H4 headlight from a KZ750. I think there's a 100W H4 available, but it would draw too much power for the wiring.

Yes there is a 100we H4 bulb, I used one for a year or so. And yes, it did fry one of my connectors and it also burned the silvering inside the Marchal lens. It sure was bright though; the box said it was for offroad use only and was not legal for the street. :ohmy: I do not recommend it. Ed

I had a Marchal with a pencil beam in the bottom. People would flash their high beams at me until I flipped on the high beam. That nonsense would stop immediately. :evil: Bulbs were getting too hard to get so I went with a halogen.
