Hey guys, first post here.

I'm rebuilding a 1982 Kz1100 A2 shaft. I already purchased a mini mechanical speedometer. To my surprise, when I started the installation, I noticed that my actual drive was electronically driven.

If I find a speedometer drive with the cable from a 1983 KZ1100 (same front wheel size), will it be direct fit???

I can't seem to find my answer anywhere on the web... The graphic on the partzilla site isn't really clear on that.

NEW UPDATED... I just got a call from a salvage shop and they say they have a speedo drive from a kz750 (between 82 and 84).... will that work?

Ok, I'll drive up there tomorrow with my wheel assembly and check if it's a match. Looks like it on partzilla. I'll post back in a couple of days with the result.

Ok so I found a mechanical speedo drive and cable from a KZ750 1983. The speedo drive was direct bolt-on replacement with the original electronic drive...

Spinned the wheel and everything works.

So the answer is yes, it works
