Can you have too many CCA?
18 May 2015 13:20
So, the fiance has a sporty and the key got left on, so her $100 gel battery was dead. We were in a hurry and she was concerned that although the battery MIGHT come back, she would end up stranded at some point. Anyway, she got a new battery and I kept the old one. It's a tad shorter than my battery for my 550, but I could make it work. This seems appealing to me right now because my 550 is currently not road ready and my current battery is due to be put to bed.
From what I can tell, the 550 battery is 160 or so CCA. The HD battery is 220 CCA. Could I potentially damage something if I use this higher CCA rated battery?

No. The battery should work fine.
