One more thing ..when trying to start starter relay clicks..could the starter cause the starter switch "off/run/off" to not work?

You shouldn't get anything with the kill switch off. Looks like that wire was a add on by the PO.

The clicking you hear is the solenoid relay closing, so your start button is energising the relay as it should. If you bridge the solenoid terminals with a screwdriver and the starter motor turns then the fault is most likely your battery / solenoid / starter / frame earth connections.
TEST Make sure your battery is fully charged and servicable, and the connections are clean and tight. Get a pair of car jump leads, connect the battery - to a good ground anywhere on the engine, and repeat the above test. If sorted your problem is your - battery to motor ground. If not then go from battery + to starter solenoid, test , then try from other solenoid terminal to starter motor terminal (careful here, don't touch anything with the jump lead but the starter motor terminal).
This diagnostic will likely trace your problem to either soleniod or either of the three battery cables. That is one - , battery to engine ground, and two + from battery to solenoid, and solenoid to starter motor. Either clean up the terminals and connection points or replace the cable(s) complete.
If that doesn't fix it then look to your starter motor brushes, but as 550 starters seem to last forever and they are easily available very cheap probably just find a replacement.
That blue wire seems a red herring, just test it though as if it goes live and grounds it will blow a fuse.
