Dyna 2000 Reliability

How reliable is the current Dyna 2000 box? Have the failure issues been resolved?

Yes, have searched KZRider and other forums for input.

Bike is a '95 KZkP. Purchased a Dyna 2000 kit from Z1 Ent in 2009. Installed the kit in 2010. The system worked great for about 3000 miles. In the last 500 miles, it would misfire on 1-4 at start-up but would clear once warmed. Now has no spark. Did the usual trouble-shooting using a Fluke meter and the Dynatek test procedures. Battery is fully charged, voltage regulator is within spec. Everything checked good, just no spark. Swapped in a known good box and all runs well. Swap in the suspect box and no spark.

The build date on my box is "0864". Have not pursued a solution from Dyna other than to be told my box is out of warranty.

There are several reports online of similar failures and possible manufacturing issues. I would retain the Dyna 2000 if the currently available box is reliable even if only anecdotal evidence is the only proof. I can return to OEM stock and may do so. Also have a Dyna S available.

Looking for reports from other Dyna 2000 users as to their experiences especially if the current box is performing reliably.
