1981 KZ1000 LTD Clutch/Starter Disconnect

Hi All,
This is my first post here. I'm restoring/converting an '81 KZ!000 to a "cafe racer." I'm tring to clean up unnecessary wiring, including the clutch starter switch. Is this as simple as cutting the wires at the harness and just splicing them together? It seems from the wiring diagram that this would make a constant "on" contact as if the clutch were pulled in, enabling the bike to be started without the switch. I was told by the previous owner that this was a common modification. I'm no electrical genius and don't want to short circuit anything or fry my wiring!
Thanks!
Bob

I hate them. Yes you can bypass it. Kick stand up? Check. Clutch pulled in? Check. Kill switch on? Check. People that stupid shouldn't be riding in the first place. LOL
