Good timing lights

Hi all. Looking for a decent timing light. I borrowed a friends old one and loved it. It did not have the inductive clamp but the old fashioned clamp. Do the inductive ones work well on non-copper core sparkplug wires? Anyone try the harbor freight one?

This is the one I used. He won't sell it to me though!

I don't know anything left that isn't Chinese junk......

I bought a cheapo inductive pickup light 45 years ago with a plastic case and it still works. Bottom line is most people who are not pro mechanics only use them once every ten years or so.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI use one like this. I bought mine used - cheap, and works great. Just be sure to get one with the inductive pickup. Ed

You can even see if the spark is intermittent by holding it and watching the flashes. A must for every tool box.

Well I snagged this one yesterday. Gf dragged me out shopping so I dragged her to Sears. :).

I think it was on sale for 10 more than harbor freight. I know craftsman can be hit and miss and isn't what it used to be, but figured I'd give it a try.

You won't be sorry and it will last for years. You can watch it and see if one plug isn't firing all the time. Like my mentor always said, "The man with the tools, gets the job."
Good luck

I have my old craftsman from 86. Tach n meter too. Tried to give to my brother but he gave it back ten years later. So...I have a feeling he will need it back soon enough.
