I am building my bike, with a new harness, and am very interested in how you grounded the relay, I ma have the same issue.

There are only tow wires on the flasher on stock KZ, did you ground one of these two, or just ground the relay?

Suzuki GSXR 750 slabside

Just ground the relay. It will say on the package which tab on the relay everything goes to. One will be from the battery, one to feed the lights, and the other will have to be grounded to the frame. It has to be a 3 prong relay. look at the one i posted
